QNOTE PRIVACY

Your recording is the source.
You control where it goes.

Qnote is local-first. Original audio stays on your device or in your private iCloud container unless you choose to export or share it.

Effective September 26, 2026 · Version 1.2

1. Who operates Qnote

Qnote is operated by Wuhan QShot Technology Co., Ltd., the developer identified on the App Store product page. Privacy requests can be sent to support@qshot.one.

2. Recordings, notes, and transcription

Qnote stores original audio, transcripts, summaries, note titles, key points, action items, and app preferences locally by default. If you enable iCloud storage, Apple stores your Qnote files in your private iCloud Drive container under your Apple account. Qnote uses Apple on-device speech recognition or an optional local Whisper model for transcription; the original audio is not sent to Qnote Cloud.

Qnote does not sell your content, use it for advertising or cross-app tracking, or use recordings, transcripts, or summaries to train models operated by Qnote.

3. Optional AI summaries

Qnote asks for your permission in the app before sending note content to a cloud AI service. You can decline or turn Qnote Cloud off in Settings and continue recording and using basic local summaries. When you allow Qnote Cloud, Qnote sends the transcript, selected summary style, any custom summary instruction, a random installation identifier, a random recording or request identifier, recording duration, regeneration status, and App Store storefront country code to qnote.qshot.one. The source audio is not included.

Cloudflare hosts the Qnote Cloud gateway and database and processes the transcript and summary instructions using the Cloudflare-hosted Qwen3 30B model on Workers AI. Qnote Cloud does not route note content to other AI providers. Cloudflare states that it does not use Workers AI customer content to train models or improve its or third-party services without explicit consent. Cloudflare processes personal data on our behalf under its Data Processing Addendum; see also its Workers AI data usage terms and Privacy Policy. Qnote does not retain the source transcript as a separate cloud content record after the request is completed. A malformed model response may be retained for no more than 24 hours to diagnose and repair the failed result; it may contain generated text derived from the transcript.

Earlier Qnote builds offered Apple Intelligence summaries and direct connections to personal AI providers. Existing notes made with those services remain on your device or in your private iCloud container; this version uses neither for new summaries.

4. Cloud usage and purchases

To provide free and purchased Qnote Cloud time, Qnote stores the random installation identifier, request identifiers, recording duration, usage state, and timestamps. When you verify a subscription, Qnote also processes App Store transaction identifiers, product, storefront, purchase and expiry dates, environment, and the app account token associated with the random installation identifier. These records are used only for app functionality, entitlement verification, quota accounting, fraud prevention, support, and legally required accounting.

5. Tracking and advertising

Qnote does not use data for advertising, does not sell personal information, and does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. Cloudflare may process technical request metadata such as IP address, timing, and security signals to deliver and protect the service.

6. Sharing and service providers

Information is processed only as needed by Apple, Cloudflare, or another service you explicitly choose through the iOS share sheet. For Qnote Cloud, Cloudflare acts as our data processor under its Data Processing Addendum, which requires it to provide the privacy protection required by applicable data protection laws and to use appropriate safeguards for the data we share. Qnote limits cloud requests to the information needed for your requested summary, uses encrypted transport, and does not send source audio to Cloudflare Workers AI. To exercise privacy rights concerning Qnote-controlled records, contact us at support@qshot.one.

7. Retention and deletion

Local notes remain until you delete them, erase the device, or uninstall the app. iCloud copies remain under your Apple account until removed there. Temporary malformed model responses expire within 24 hours. Cloud usage and purchase records are retained while needed to provide entitlements, prevent abuse, answer disputes, and meet accounting or legal obligations. To request access, correction, or deletion of Qnote-controlled cloud records, email support@qshot.one.

8. Recording other people

You are responsible for obtaining any consent required before recording, transcribing, summarizing, or sharing another person’s speech, and for following workplace, venue, and local-law requirements.

9. Security, changes, and contact

Qnote uses iOS app isolation, Keychain storage for installation identifiers, encrypted network connections, bounded request handling, and access controls appropriate to the service. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Material policy changes will be posted here with a new effective date. Contact support@qshot.one.
